We all aspire to be in loving, healthy relationships.
But, our relationships don’t always end up being the best for us- almost every adult has a story about that time when they were in a toxic partnership or when their (former) friend treated them disrespectfully and so hard decisions had to be made.
As LGBTQIA+ people who face interpersonal and cultural stigma and isolation, we don't always have models and skills to create balanced healthy relationships of all kinds. Queer folks also experience abusive and violent relationships where those dynamics get overlooked or hidden, and people in these relationships often don’t get the support they need in time, leading to long-term physical and mental health consequences.
We invite you to our annual February art+love-themed gathering, where you can make art from your experiences as a way of processing what happened, and release the parts of those relationships that no longer serve you. During this gathering, we’ll collectively build a community of care so we are not alone in our learning nor alone on our journeys towards healthier relationships.

At this trauma-informed gathering, we’ll hear from an artist who has been through difficult relationship times- they will lead us in being creative and making art from our own stories. We’ll also hear from the OutFront Minnesota anti-violence team, who will share reflective questions and information about how power dynamics show up within all kinds of relationships.

Join us to hear relationship stories and to consider how your relationships are treating you. In addition to stories, we’ll be swapping tools that can support you, and in turn help you check in with and support your dearest people during all stages of relationship.
