Housing Justice Stories with Telling Queer History
Sunday October 10, 2021 2-4:00pm CT
This is the first event of our 2021-22 program year exploring the intersections of queer experience and justice!
Minnesota is facing a housing crisis. Rent is through the roof (pun intended), our neighborhoods are gentrifying, and cities are bulldozing informal communities. Beyond this, we know our community is disproportionately unhoused. 1 in 5 LGBTQ+ folks are houseless at least once before turning 18. Elders and youth alike, many of us have had to face the impossible decision of being our authentic selves - being out, or being housed.
Join us for an afternoon of truth-telling, sharing, and community care. We will have 4 featured story tellers with more information to come!
There will be actionable information about renting advocacy in Minneapolis, stories of homemaking, and space to connect with others.
All ages, ASL interpreted, live captioned, substance free event, and sliding scale tickets.
