Don't miss this exciting kick-off event for the very first location of Telling Queer History's traveling exhibit!
Join us in person at Red Wing Arts on February 23 from 2:00-3:30 PM for an opening party!
Description: a promotional image for the We Live On: Stories of Radical Connection exhibit's first stop. Text reads: Eleven Years of Telling Queer History. Red Wing Arts: Depot Gallery, 418 Levee St., Red Wing MN 55066. Winter Hours: TH-SAT 10-4 & SUN 12-4. RedWingArts.org. The exhibit will show from February 20 through March 6, with an opening party February 23 from 2-3:30 PM.
Listen to storytellers share how they've built community in unconventional ways.
Meet other LGBTQIA+ folks and allies from outside of the Twin Cities metro area, and share your stories.
Tour the exhibit, where you can learn about often-buried histories from underrepresented people within our communities, including those of LGBTQIA+ incarcerated folks, Indigenous folks & people living and working in Minnesota's Iron Range.
Reflect on your place in queer history. Interact with historically-situated archival video, story transcripts, audio recordings, letters, art, poems, an ancestral altar, and queer ephemera as you learn about Telling Queer History's 11 years of community-based work.
Arrive early to explore the event before the program starts (gallery opens at noon) or stay after until the gallery closes at 5pm.

We will have chairs out that have a capacity of 300 lbs.
This is a substance-free event
The exhibit will eventually be digitized so you can visit it from home. Stay tuned as we work towards this.
Please reach out if you have other access needs and we will do our best! hello@tellingqueerhistory.com
Transportation: train from St. Paul Depot (240 Kellogg Boulevard East St. Paul, MN 55101) to Red Wing Depot. RWA folks recommend taking the Borealis because the Empire train is always late. Borealis arrives in RWD around 12:40 and leaves around 5:40pm for $7 each way.
Both train stations are wheelchair accessible and the art gallery is attached to the Red Wing depot. https://www.amtrak.com/routes/borealis-train.html
If driving, there is parking around the depot and gallery.
We highly recommend making a weekend in Red Wing. Most LGBTQ+ friendly businesses are closed on Sunday so go down on Saturday to support them (we will post a list when we have it) stay overnight, attend our event Sunday and take the train home after.
