About This Event

Celebrate Pride Month with a special storytelling event by Telling Queer History and the Minnesota Historical Society! Telling Queer History storytellers will present LGBTQIA+ stories of resistance, love, and identity formation. The event is in conjunction with the return of the 2023 hit exhibit Going Out, Coming In: LGBTQ+ Spaces in Downtown Minneapolis.

Before the event, explore the exhibit to learn about Twin Cities’ LGBTQIA+ spaces where people found community throughout history.

This event is in partnership with Telling Queer History and will take place at Mill City Museum in the Mill Commons Gallery. Telling Queer History is bringing four local LGBTQ+ storytellers to share from their experiences for this event:Raymond Luczak, Krista Burton, Kabir Mohamed, and Javier Morillo-Alice.

Access: Masks requested and provided. ASL interpreted. ADA compliant building with a ramp at the front entrance on Second Street. No alcohol may be served at this event. All ages. Free event. Food provided. Near public transit. There are no audio descriptions of the visual exhibit.
