What kind of power do LGBTQ folks have, as sexual beings? How can we reclaim our sexual power, our pleasure, and our embodied selves?
Join us December 11 for this virtual event that will heat things up!
Together, we will focus on reclaiming our pleasures and our sense of embodiment from those who have tried to label, limit, confine and harm us.
For longer than we can count, dominant culture has labeled LGBTQ+ people as deviant and judged our desires as not normal, wrong. We've been told the ways we experience pleasure go against religious and social tradition. Our hearts and bodies have been attacked and harmed, and when we experience bullying, abuse, assault, and other traumas, we often experience dissociation from our bodies as a coping and survival mechanism. Lots of LGBTQ+ people have to work really hard to redevelop relationships with our bodies, our pleasure, and our sexual power.
In December, our storytellers will share their experiences of reclaiming their power and agency, reconnecting to their bodies, and developing deep relationships to many kinds of pleasures. We'll hear from storytellers who are asexual, who have embodiment practices, who are sex workers, and who are professional sexologists. Join us to hear from these amazing folks and to continue building our own relationships with embodiment, sexual power, and pleasure!
